We are recruiting for a Registered Nurse for Day Surgery Ward (DSU) who wishes to join #TeamIOWNHS. An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and highly motivated Band 5 nurse to join our Day Surgery Ward.

The successful applicant will be an individual with excellent interpersonal and problem solving skills who can demonstrate an ability to work closely with the DSU team to ensure that a high standard of holistic care is delivered to every patient.

You may be an experienced Band 5 nurse or newly qualified nurse seeking a new challenge and wanting to develop further skills within an acute surgical setting. We pride ourselves in delivering high quality care whilst working to the increased demands of our elective waiting lists.

As a Registered Nurse on the Day Surgery Unit your responsibilities will include undertaking clinical skills and the safe admission and discharge of patients; dealing with concerns of the patients; educating staff and mentoring students.

The Day Surgery Unit focuses on elective day case surgery; minor operations and biopsies. We are seeking a nurse who is adaptable to the demands of our busy Day Surgery Ward and able to work flexibly to cover the full range of shifts.

The successful applicant will be motivated and keen to learn and deliver excellent patient care at all times.

You will be encouraged to develop your surgical career and we will ensure you undertake continuous professional development.
