**Purpose of the Post.**
- Ensure that the people of Gwynedd are at the heart of everything we do.
- To provide a high quality, efficient and cost effective service especially within the elector registration and elections services
- Ensure that the people of Gwynedd are at the heart of everything we do.

**Responsibility for functions. e.g. staff, budgets, equipment**
- Office goods and equipment

**Main Duties**
Leading on, and undertaking, the day-to-day operation of the elector registration service including all arrangements relating to the publication and maintenance of the Electoral Register, providing an efficient, cost-effective service of the highest quality including:

- Maintaining absentee voting records, processing absentee voting requests and annual renewal forms
- Processing and determining requests from electors for voting identification documentation
- Overseeing the annual canvass and any similar arrangements being responsible for recruiting, directing and monitoring canvassers
- Developing and implementing data matching and data mining methods using various internal and external sources for confirming individual elector registration information
- Providing guidance to administrative staff within the Council who assist with electoral registration processes and enquiries
- Maintaining a detailed and current understanding of the computerised electoral management system ensuring that it is used to its full potential to ensure the accuracy and efficiency of registration processes

Assisting in organising and administering elections and referendums at all levels including:

- Appointing and organising staff for polling stations, the count and issuing and opening sessions of postal votes
- Arranging sufficient resources for election processes
- Supervising physical moving tasks such as moving ballot boxes and equipment, papers
