**Finance & Procurement Officer | North Kent - Hybrid with 2 days in the office | £35k - £37k**

Our client a local authority organisation are looking for a procurement professional to join them in a split role of procurement and finance administration. This is a permanent full-time opportunity that will require you to work 2 days in the office and3 days from home.

You will be first point of contact on procurement matters and will provide procurement advice and support to officers across the organisation and also assist the Finance Team in the delivery of the Financial Services Business Plan.

Main responsibilities

Procurement
- To advise and support officer’s across the organisation on procurement matters.
- To conduct a quarterly creditors analysis reviewing spend as appropriate to ensure thresholds are maintained.
- To update and maintain the organisations contracts register
- Review of new supplier set up forms from officers
- Annually review and update the procurement strategy

Finance
- To provide transactional and operational finance support.
- To contribute to the completion of returns and claims for grants.
- To assist the Accountant in maintaining the financial records of the Trading Companies.
- To co-ordinate responses to Freedom of Information (FOI) requests on behalf of the finance team.
- To provide assistance with end of year processes that contribute to the preparation of the Annual Statement of Accounts
- To assess the financial and associated implications of draft reports prepared by other departmental officers and report comments to relevant senior officers.

You will need
- Recent experience within procurement ideally with some experience in finance
- Ideally from a public sector/not for profit background
- You will have excellent communication skills with the ability to present information
- Studying towards CIPS would be an advantage, but not essential
