This is an exciting role giving the jobholder the opportunity to take provide value to an ever-expanding Financial Transactional Team. The role will support the Group Financial Controller and the Financial Accountant in the management of transactional team.Your role will be to aid in ensuring that all balance sheet accounts are reconciled monthly and signed-off. The key focus of this role will be to ensure that income is correctly recorded in Profit and Loss Accounts, whilst ensuring that Accrued Income trulyrepresents collectable debt. Through this role, you will also be supporting the Finance Assistants and Credit Controllers to ensure a smooth process with all financial processes in order to meet team targets.
- **Duties**_
- Ensuring that income is correctly recorded with accrued income being the amount of collectable debt.
- Close control of Balance Sheets and supporting reconciliations.
- Support the preparation of budget and forecasts.
- Assist in all statutory reporting and compliance, including year-end audit process.
- Produce the quarterly VAT returns.
- Oversee cash and working capital management, including the preparation of short-term cash flows, and driving strong credit control.
- Ensure robust financial controls are in place to ensure that best practice is achieved, and risks mitigated. This includes ensuring that strong month end processes are in place and adhered to, to ensure that the reported financial results are accurate.
- Maintain group accounting policies and procedures.
- Ensure that Inter Company balances are reconciled monthly, and the production of monthly entity based financial statements.
- Identify systems and performance improvement opportunities, working with the GFC/Finance Team and the Operational Team to implement any changes required.
- **Requirements**_
- Accurate and rigorous, with a 'right first time’ attitude and aptitude
- Proactive, with a hands-on approach and a passion for continual improvement
- Experience of improving and maintaining high quality financial controls, business processes and systems and an understanding of what best practice means in this regard.
- Be a part qualified accountant, ACA, ACCA, or CIMA, with demonstrable excellent technical competence, or at least be able to demonstrate experience of working at a similar level.
- Able to deliver 'on time, in full’ to reporting deadlines synonymous with an SME business.
- Excellent excel skills, possibly to Intermediate stage.
