**Reception**: Ensure an effective and efficient reception service is provided to patients and any other visitors to the Practice Deal with all general enquiries, explain procedures and make new and follow-up appointments. Using your own judgment and communication skills ensure that patients with no prior appointment but who need urgent consultation are seen according to practice protocol. Explain Practice arrangements and formal requirements to new patients and those seeking temporary cover and ensure procedures are completed. Give out signed prescriptions ensuring that the name and address is checked.

Give to patient any form or letter that has been prepared for them ensuring that moneys owed is taken and passed to practice manager along with slip logging the details. Receipts should be given. Ensure hospital samples are sent in appropriate colour coded bags ready for collection by courier. Ensure reception is always clean and tidy.

Ensure that all phones are answered promptly and politely. Ensure changes of addresses are made on computer. Request patients mobile phone number routinely. Identify unfamiliar patients using DOB and NHS number as well as name.
- Deal with completed surgery scanning. - Book home phlebotomy. - Check Woodland Website daily and process requests.
