Transport Coordinator

We are currently looking for a
**Transport Co-ordinator **to effectively plan driver and vehicle resource, whilst ensuring legal compliance of the Transport function.
**What you'll do**
- Undertake deliveries up to 20 hours per week
- Offer Full Support/Cover for the Transport manager when needed.
- Liaise with vehicle and equipment contractors to ensure schedules are maintained with service meeting/exceeding standards.
- Planning and scheduling daily workplans.
- Ensuring vehicle utilisation is maximised and service levels met.
- Maintain and control all requirements for compliance in line with current legislation i.e. Working Time Directive regulations and tachograph legislation etc.
- Ensure all vehicles are maintained in line with vehicle contract and defects rectified effectively.
- To ensure transport personnel are at all times aware of the requirements of the customer.
- Monitor departmental performance and absence management issues, undertaking all necessary employee investigations.
- To ensure any incidents are reported, recorded and investigated to the required standard.
- To ensure all paperwork and reports are completed accurately, legible and where required submitted on time (including weekly payroll timesheets).
- To promote, implement and support relevant Company policies and procedures.
- To maintain a proactive approach in relation to management and supervision of people and teams within the department.
- Maintain knowledge of transport legislation.
- To understand the quality standards in operation at VEKA. Have good product knowledge and be competent in the workings of equipment, vehicles and devices to ensure good serviceability and working order at all times.
- Communicate effectively to all levels within the business, using both formal and informal methods.
- Ensure monitoring documents are accurately maintained (vehicle utilisation etc).
**What you'll need**
- Class one HGV License
- Full understanding of Driver CPC responsibilities
- A good communicator at levels
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office
