This set up consists of play and youth clubs, one to one and project work that all provide a wide variety of creative opportunities and experiences that encourage the participation and development of children and young people in communities.

The Youth and Play Service promotes a strong connection between targeted and universal work that ensures there is a consistent offer of support to children and young people when they need it.

**About the Job**

An exciting opportunity has become available within the Youth and Play Service for a Families First Youth and Play Co-ordinator

You will be part of a dynamic and enthusiastic team who work with children and young people with a range of needs within the locality. The aim of your role will involve developing and delivering improved outcomes for children and young people by co-ordinating the delivery of 1:1 and group work intervention and support within the home, community, and school settings. Working in partnership with colleagues withing education, social care, and the voluntary sector you will ensure there is a co-ordinated and targeted approach to support children and young people in Newport.

Experience of working with children and young people is essential for this role. The ability to deliver high quality projects and programmes for children and young people, and to take a lead on Families First within the service is also essential. You must be able to work flexibly to meet the needs of the service, including working evenings and weekends when required.
