The Role:
We are seeking a dedicated Payroll Advisor to join our esteemed payroll department at Holland and Barrett. As a vital member of our team, you will play a crucial role in processing timely and accurate payroll for our 6,500 colleagues across our retail estate, distribution sector, and head office. Your commitment to adhering to government regulations and delivering exceptional customer service will ensure the smooth running of our payroll operations.
**Key Accountabilities: **
- Process payroll accurately and efficiently, ensuring compliance with relevant government regulations.
- Handle and resolve payroll-related queries from employees through both written and verbal communication channels.
- Perform manual calculations for Statutory Sick Pay (SSP) and Statutory Maternity Pay (SMP).
- Utilize Excel to create payment files, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Liaise with HMRC regarding PAYE queries, maintaining effective communication.
- Conduct comprehensive reconciliations of various payroll reports to guarantee overall accuracy.
**Location**:
The company has a Hub in Nuneaton and we typically expect colleagues to spend at least two days each week in the office. There may also be occasional travel to other locations. We're a global, digitally enabled business and we expect our colleagues to be self-driven and to determine the most appropriate place to work each day to meet the requirements of the role, achieve their best performance and optimum output.
The Person:
- Prior experience in payroll or a customer service role involving conflict resolution, as training will be provided.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality, accurate work.
- Outstanding communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively at all levels and provide exceptional customer service.
- Proven ability to prioritize tasks, plan effectively, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Excel and other relevant payroll software.
