**Job overview**

**Job Description and Primary Responsibilities (not limited to)**:

- Greeting patients and obtaining necessary registration information.
- Maintaining and monitoring the appointment system.
- Take payments, reconcile them on the management system, and record as necessary.
- Initiating contact with and responding to: requests from patients, other team members and external agencies
- Importing photocopy/scanning documentation as required
- Data entry of new and relevant patient information as required
- Provide cover for our admin team on occasions of annual leave and sickness.
- Manage all queries as necessary in an efficient manner
- Maintain a clean, tidy, effective working area at all times
- Monitor and maintain the reception area and notice boards
- Support all clinical staff with general tasks as requested (filing, organising admin etc)

**Main**

You will require the ability to multitask, and be able to work with frequent interruptions. You will need a degree of flexibility in providing cover for other members of our admin team during times of annual leave and sickness whilst knowledge of the practice management system (TM3 or similar) would be desirable, but not essential.

**Qualifications and requirements**:
**Essential**
- Educated to GCSE level or equivalent
- Experience of working with the general public
- Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
- Strong IT skills (previous experience of using a booking management system desirable)
- Clear, polite telephone manner
- Competent in the use of Office and Outlook
- Effective time management (planning and organising)
- Ability to work as a team member and autonomously
- Good interpersonal, problem solving and analytical skills
- Ability to follow policy and procedure
- Polite and confident, especially with handling payments.
- Ability to work under pressure
- Flexibility to work outside of core office hours
- Good understanding of and adherence to confidentiality and GDPR.

This is an essential role in a rapidly expanding practice, helping to provide a welcoming, friendly and professional service to patients who have been referred to our busy practice. We have 3 clinic locations, so the reception role can get busy monitoring activity at all venues.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months

Pay: From £11.44 per hour

Expected hours: 20 per week
