**Our Submarines Business**

Our Submarines business has been safely delivering world class submarines to the UK Royal Navy for more than a century.

The Astute class will equip the Royal Navy with its largest and most capable generation of attack submarines. We are responsible for the design, build, test and commissioning of these state-of-the-art vessels. In total, seven boats will make up the fleet, each weighing a mighty 7,400 tonnes.

Dreadnought is the successor to the Vanguard class of nuclear deterrent submarines. We will deliver four submarines to the Royal Navy, with the first submarine entering service in the early 2030s. Dreadnought is widely considered to be one of the world's most complex engineering challenges.

**Procurement Professional - Site & Facilities**

Would you like to play a key role in the Submarine Supply Chain? We currently have a vacancy for a Procurement Professional - Site & Facilities at our site in Barrow.

As a Procurement Professional, you will be responsible for supporting the development of a category strategy and for implementing the strategy through the delivery of procurement activity in support of Site & Facilities requirements, specifically supporting the Facilities Engineering team by delivering the procurement of the Plant and Equipment (P&E) that enables our Operations team to build our products. This includes the execution of the end-to-end procurement process ensuring the delivery of Site & Facilities' requirements within budget, to schedule and in full compliance with the technical and quality requirements. You will also be responsible for managing supplier performance and improvement activity, including proactive risk and opportunity management and developing, maintaining and managing relationships with internal and external customers and stakeholders.

This role will provide you with a challenging and evolving environment where no two days are the same; you will have regular interaction with a wide range of stakeholders and suppliers. You will learn new skills and gain exposure to many different facets of the Submarine business.

**Your main responsibilities as a Procurement Professional will involve**:

- Supporting the development of the category strategy for Facilities Engineering requirements and implementing the strategy, promoting cross-functional collaboration and customer focus to ensure full, thorough engagement and buy-in to procurement strategies
- Leading all aspects of supplier management including sourcing, invitations to tender, negotiation of contracts and supplier development activities
- Undertaking supplier assessment and due diligence to ensure the effective selection of suppliers to meet the business' needs
- Conducting negotiations to secure the optimum business outcome
- Creating and maintaining Purchase Orders in SAP
- Contributing to the team's monthly reporting cycle, including; cost savings/cost avoidance, Supply Chain Management Review and procurement metrics
- Using business systems, including: SAP ERP, Coupa, CEMAR and SharePoint to ensure high quality, accurate information relating to procurement activities is maintained in accordance with document management and procurement policy and process
- Developing and maintaining supplier relationships as appropriate and undertaking supplier development activities, with support and, in liaison with Supply Chain strategy team and Supplier Quality Assurance (support the delivery of Supplier Performance Reviews (SPRs) and Improvement Plans)

**Your skills and qualifications**:

- Procurement experience is essential
- Previous site & facilities experience
- Indirect procurement experience is advantageous
- CIPS qualification, willingness or currently working towards
