**Job description**:
As a user researcher you will usually be embedded in a multidisciplinary team, responsible for planning and carrying out user research activities. You will be expected to work independently on a team. You will:

- Plan, design, prepare and run user research activities to support the design, development and continuous improvement of government services and policies
- Recruit and moderate interviews with users, and lead team analysis sessions
- Write, script and run quantitative surveys, analyse data, creating engaging presentations of results
- Deliver user research insights at pace
- Research inclusively with a wide range of users, including those with additional needs and other hard-to-reach groups
- Effectively communicate user research findings to the team and the wider organisation, to influence decision making, help develop empathy for our users and inform evidence-based decisions
- Ensure research is shareable and traceable through research data analysis and synthesis of findings
- Play an active part in the service research community, supporting junior researchers and other user centred design activities
- Be part of the DfE user research community

- **Research methods and planning. **Ability to plan and deliver user research, using appropriate methods, working in a multi-disciplinary team.
