Early Intervention Worker

**Salary**: Starting at £29,679 per annum (pro-rata if job share)

Location: Shropshire

Holidays: 26 days plus statutory holidays per annum to be calculated pro rata to hours worked

Reports to: Senior ChISVA/ Service manager

Start date: 1st August 2024

Length: Fixed term contract until 31st March 2025 (with a view to permanency dependant on funding)

**OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE JOB**:
This role will provide a range of early interventions for children and young people (aged 5-18), impacted by sexual harm or sexual exploitation.

The post holder will carry out assessments, provide recommendations, provide time limited non -criminal justice advocacy and psychosocial education to support the needs of children and young people who have either experienced sexual harm or may have caused sexual harm to others.

Support will be provided directly to the child/young person, and via a non-abusive parent/ guardian.

The successful applicant will be required to understand and operate within the Axis organisation’s policies, procedures and guidelines and work to the principles of equal opportunities.

**KEY TASKS**

All clients
- Undertake needs and risk assessments and undertake associated report writing and recommendations.
- Provide time limited non-criminal justice advocacy, psychosocial education and support to children and young people and their families who are at risk of, or have experienced sexual harm or sexual exploitation
- The role will develop over time to include support to children and young people who have exhibited problematic/ harmful sexualised behaviour.
- To develop and deliver interventions based on individual needs of clients.
- Collaborate and support a range of multiagency partners to ensure the most appropriate pathway of support for the individual survivor.
- Advocate on behalf of clients to ensure they can have access to a range of services based on need
- Carry out institutional advocacy and stakeholder engagement and communication to enhance to wellbeing of all survivors of sexual violence.
- Ensure all risk and safeguarding processes and procedures are followed.
- To undertake evaluation and outcome meetings and data reporting to ensure continuous development of services.
- To support the group work facilitation of the delivery of psychosocial education in schools, colleges and community settings.
- Represent and promote Axis in meetings and events.

**GENERAL**
- Manage a caseload
- Maintain and monitor records of all cases
- Follow procedures and protocols with other services so that the safety of the clients is kept central to any process
- Note and feed back to other agencies any consistent difficulties clients are having accessing their service.
- Contribute to the development of service policies, protocols, guidelines and strategies within area of practice as necessary
- Develop and maintain effective communication systems with key partners including police, CPS, court services, social care, education, Victim Support, witness service, voluntary and statutory sector organisations.
- Any other duties the Manager, Head of Operations or CEO considers appropriate.

**PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT AND SUPPORT**
- Attend monthly line management supervision
- Attend monthly clinical supervision
- Identify and attend appropriate training opportunities

**OTHER**
- To produce written reports as required
- Follow Axis’ policies and procedures
- Uphold axis’ values and behaviours framework
