Work as part of an integrated Trust wide Safeguarding and complex care team working in partnership with external community partners for patients admitted to the Trust.Visit clinical areas daily to provide support and advice to staff, patients and carers to during their inpatient stay.Participate in the development and deliver specialist Mandatory and bespoke education and training (Protecting Vulnerable People) in relation to safeguarding agenda for clinical and non-clinical staff across the Trust. Participate in the development and deliver specialist Mandatory and bespoke education and training (Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training) for clinical and nonclinical staff across the Trust. Contribute to and maintain appropriate data collection tools, audit data collection and methods. Support the Specialist Lead Nurse/Named Nurse/Midwife in the development and use of appropriate strategies and Trust policies of safeguarding practice across the Trust.

Processing of safeguarding and complex care notifications and any administrative tasks required in order to support the efficient and effective running of the department required to keep patients safe and supported. Workload will be allocated by Specialist Lead Nurse/Named Nurse/Midwife with an expectation that the post holder will manage own case load within appropriate time scales. promptly alerting the Specialist Lead Nurse/Named Nurse/Midwife to any issues or concerns when required. The post holder will undergo quarterly safeguarding supervision.

To act as a resource by providing advice to WUTH Staff in relation to allsafeguarding and complex care matters ensuring that care and support isappropriately implemented within healthcare delivery in line with legislation. The post holder will be available on a daily basis for advice and support across the Trust for those staff contacting the service on effective assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care according to changing health care needs, paying attention to Mental Capacity, Dementia, learning Disability and/or Autism and MND, ensuring that relative and cares are involved in all aspects of care. Support the co-ordination of sharing highly distressing information regarding harm and abuse of vulnerable people with internal and external partners. The post holder will be expected to feedback to all staff when they have raised a concern for an adult at risk.

This will also include the requirement to provide safeguarding supervision to an identified group of staff on an induvial basis or as a group. Maintain professional and effective interdisciplinary and multi-agency relationships to improve outcomes for vulnerable people who may be at risk of harm and/or abuse by working in partnership. Enable all patients to be supported in accessing a high standard of care by providing specialist advice to staff on reasonable adjustments, Health passports and carer passports. Report incidents and any near misses taking effective action to minimise future risk, challenge professional and organisational boundaries identifying areas for development for vulnerable people and complex care.

When required deputise in the absence of the either the Specialist Leadnurse/Named Nurse/Midwife by attending any internal or external meetings. Attend Internal and external meetings including statutory strategy safeguarding meetings, best interests and multi-disciplinary team meetings.
