**PURPOSE**
Comply with the standards of conduct, performance, and ethics set by Social Work England while ensuring compliance with legal, organisational, and multi-agency requirements. Take responsibility for leading operational social work practices involving safeguarding, adult protection, and high-level risk, ensuring that they meet the highest possible standards and are in accordance with relevant legislation, policies, procedures, and guidance.

**MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
ROLE SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLSQualifications:
The requirements for this position include a Social Work qualification such as a Degree in Social Work or DipSW, registration with Social Work England, and evidence of continuing professional development in line with the Professional Capabilities Framework. Additionally, relevant post-qualifying/vocational training courses and the practice educator award are required.

**Knowledge & Skills**:

- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all relevant legislation, including safeguarding and mental capacity laws, for the Service Area.
- Have significant experience working with children and/or adults in a statutory health or social care setting.
- Demonstrate practices that align with the principles of Social Work England.
- Understand the importance of confidentiality and data protection.
- Effectively communicate with families and professionals, both verbally and in writing.
- Be aware of current issues and challenges facing Social Workers.
- Be willing to reassign to other teams as needed.
- Possess strong assessment and interviewing skills.

**Experience**:

- Working in a professional capacity in a multi-agency team.
- Working with vulnerable individuals, carers and families in a Local Authority setting and ability to do so irrespective of their circumstances and background.
- Supervising, supporting and mentoring others including delivering training.
- Chairing meetings.
- Arranging support plans and/or packages of care.
- Joint working
- Undertaking safeguarding investigations, assessing and managing risk and planning appropriate interventions.
- Involving people who use services and carers in consultation and partnership.

**KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS**

Qualifications: Recognised management qualification.

Experience: Working with a range of families with different issues and needs.
