This is an exciting opportunity within the Gateway G Department, based at The Nottingham Treatment Centre covering the reception. The Daycase Receptionists core working hours are Monday to Friday between 7am-6pm on a rostered. You will have excellent customer service skills and be committed to providing a first class service to all our patients

You must be educated to GCSE standard, possess excellent communication skills and be competent in the use of computers systems including Microsoft packages and Medway PAS.

Main duties of the job

Working as part of the Daycase team you will be responsible for greeting patients at reception, checking and updating personal details while maintaining patient confidentiality. Using Careflow PAS and other relevant booking systems you will arrange follow-up appointments and update details accurately and efficiently. You’ll have excellent communication skills and will deal appropriately with enquires both by telephone and in person.

You will be a conscientious and enthusiastic team player with excellent organisational skills. You will need to be able to demonstrate a clear understanding of confidentiality issues, be well motivated and reliable. You will be able to understand and accurately convey verbal and written information and be able to remain calm under pressure.

Use your own initiative and respond to queries within and outside of the Organization with a professional manner to patients, relatives and staff. You will present a professional and polite attitude at all times.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

To support the daycase team and provide reception and administration cover.

Print theatre lists from Bluespier in advance of theatre date and, using Medway PAS.

Greet patients at reception, check their personal details are correct, and if necessary amend in Medway PAS accordingly, ensuring patient confidentiality.

Admit patients using Medway PAS for theatre, and also discharging patients appropriately.

Send all notes from theatres to DHR for scanning on a daily basis.

Arrange transport as necessary.

Send follow ups to the relevant departments from theatre lists on bluespier.

Deal appropriately with enquiries from staff and the general public, seeking advice or referring elsewhere if necessary.

Ensure all theatre outcomes are recorded accurately on the day.

Keep personally updated and be able to advise patients in relation to peripheral services available, i.e. transport, interpreting services etc.

Notify Waiting list coordinators or designated person of any patients who fail to attend their appointment who will take necessary action in line with departmental and/or Trust policies.

Receive and respond to enquiries from relatives/external agencies adhering to Trust confidentiality guidelines at all times

Be able to competently use Medway PAS and other information technology systems and participate in training programmes to develop and update personal skills to meet the needs of the department.

Maintain tidy, safe working environment, reporting any hazards or faults timely and appropriately_. _

Present a professional, polite and courteous attitude at all times and be appropriately dressed when on duty.

Undertake any other duties, which may reasonably be required.

Ensure RTT patient data quality is accurate at all times through admission and dischage.

Prepare all notes for theatres and pre-assessments for the following days.

Able to travel across both campuses when necessary.
