This is an exciting opportunity to join the Outreach Team, which works with vulnerable service users, providing flexible support to avoid homelessness and establish long term housing solutions. The team plays a vital role in addressing issues that can lead to homelessness, as well as delivering support to service users who are already homeless to find accommodation and reduce rough sleeping.

You
- Have practical knowledge of homeless services, supported housing and social housing provision.
- Understand the issues affecting people who have been homeless and the pathways to reduce the risk of repeated homelessness.
- Are familiar with support organisations working with people at risk of homelessness and can work effectively with partner organisations in a multi-agency approach.
- Are able to work with with accommodation providers to help house hard to place clients.

We
- Are a local authority seeking humane and practical approaches to prevent and relieve homelessness
- Believe that input early on can prevent homelessness
- Understand that people need help and support to move on from homelessness

We are looking to recruit an individual to work alongside the Council’s Housing Options and Private Rented Options services. The majority of the time will be spent in the community supporting vulnerable people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. This could be people who require additional support to be able to sustain their existing tenancy, or people moving on from homelessness into privately rented accommodation or social housing.

You will provide individual support and will co-ordinate a multi-agency approach around the individual or family to reduce the impact of homelessness, reduce the length of time that vulnerable people are in short term accommodation, and reduce the risk of repeated episodes of homelessness.

Note that this role will involve travelling around Bradford District to see clients in their own homes. Applicants will be asked at interview how they intend to manage this efficiently and effectively.
