**Local Engagement Officer (Inside IR35)**

**Contract Term**:6 Months

**Contracting Authority**:Department for Transport

**Location**:Hybrid - 2-3 days onsite in London

**As a Local Engagement Officer your main responsibilities would be**:

- Support the cross division initiatives promoting and sharing good practice in bus service improvements (through development of case studies, toolkit products etc.
- Seek out useful information which will support LTAs and Bus Operators to develop and implement their Bus Service Improvement Plans (BSIPs) and Enhanced Partnerships (EPs) and provide this through the fortnightly Bulletin.
- Support colleagues with drafting high-quality responses to ministerial correspondence and briefing requests in a timely manner.
- Provide other teams across the Department and wider Government with up-to-date lines on buses, on an adhoc basis.

**You’ll have relevant experience in**:

- The ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage conflicting priorities to time and to a high standard.
- The ability to work under pressure and to adapt to changing demands, as necessary.
- A proactive approach to delivering results.
- The ability to work collaboratively with teams across the Department, and with external stakeholders as required.
- Experience in drafting clearly and concisely for a range of audiences.
- A good record of collaboration and organisational skills
- Confident at communicating verbally with a wide range of stakeholders
- Proactive and efficient with the ability to deliver at pace
- It would desirable if you had previous public sector experience
