Quality Assurance Officer (Children’s).
As a Quality Assurance Officer in the People Directorate you will be responsible for undertaking quality assurance monitoring and the evaluation of registered Children’s homes and supported accommodation across the UK. The role is varied and will provide you with an excellent opportunity to develop and practice a range of skills to carry out this vital function within the team. The role will involve keeping up to date with new regulations that impact children’s accommodation.
You will work closely with social work teams, senior management, children’s care providers as well as external agencies that the local authority have contracts with. You will also be responsible to develop and maintain relationships with providers across the Social Care Sector, so good communication skills are essential.
You may also be required to work with our colleagues in Strategic Commissioning and input into development of services that are fit for purpose and meet the needs of our service users.
You will support managers to undertake quality audits on providers’ performance by using a range of tools. You will work in accordance with the new semi-independent regulations being introduced by Ofsted in April 2023.
You will be comfortable in working flexibly to support the wider duties of children’s brokerage and work with the children’s brokerage manager to develop procedures and systems to evaluate care standard and service delivery levels of both children’s Homes and Supported Accommodation Care Services provided within and outside the Borough. You will work as part of the team, but also have the ability to work under pressure, work independently and make decisions.
This is a full-time role and at times you may be required to work additional hours to assist with emergencies.
Travel will be required across the UK.
