**Job summary**:
The Animal and Plant Health Agency (APHA) is an executive agency of the Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs, and works on behalf of the Scottish Government and Welsh Government. Our diverse teams of over 2,000 skilled and committed professionals come together to provide research, advice and support to UK Government for safeguarding animal, public and plant health for benefit of the environment and economy.
The SHaW Team will play a key role in supporting APHA and its staff in improving health and wellbeing. This role is an Admin Team Administrator The post holder’s role is to provide efficient administration of health surveillance procedures for the staff within APHA.
**Job description**:
**Duties**:
- Using Cohort, the healthcare system, to monitor the requirement for health surveillance for staff.
- Using knowledge of the health surveillance protocols to provide assistance to managers risk assessing the requirement of health surveillance for their employees.
- Liaising with Occupational Health to ensure all identified staff receive their surveillance to time.
- Holder of GPC card.
- Participation in emergency response and to be on call at weekends as and when required
- Processing new starters to the agency, ensuring they receive all the required health surveillance without undue delay.
- Provide support to the department
- Ensure the department complies with quality standards through accurate management of departmental records
- Provide support to senior management by organising meetings and taking minutes when required
- Provide general admin duties such as filing, photocopying, scanning and other ad hoc duties
**Person specification**:
**Required experience**:
- Demonstrable experience of completing general administrative tasks and making logístical arrangements and writing procedural documents.
- Proven experience of building and maintaining relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Experience in using a range of IT systems, including Microsoft Office (including Word, and Excel).
- Previous experience of working in a Health & Safety environment.
