An exciting opportunity is available to work within the Adult Forensic Secure Mental Health setting, providing a quality service to service users who are deemed to have complex and challenging mental health needs.

The Recovery Academy Edenfield Campus is a satellite hub for the GMMH Trust Recovery Academy College based on the Prestwich site. The Edenfield Recovery Academy offers a wide range of recovery learning opportunities to enable skill development that supports the patient journey towards discharge. Resources include, dedicated skills and education centres, and a fully equipped gymnasium / sports hall.

The post enables the opportunity to develop both clinical and leadership skills with many opportunities to expand abilities and knowledge.

The post holder will provide clinical, professional and managerial leadership for junior staff within the service and be a positive role model.

The main focus of the role is to work collaboratively with service users to design, develop, facilitate and evaluate group and individual interventions. Clinical records will be documented and shared with the wider multi-disciplinary teams to communicate patient recovery.

The department is committed to staff wellbeing and progression. Regular supervision, the appraisal process and continuing professional development opportunities are established and welcomed.

To support, advise, develop and engage students and tutors from across all professions and the service user group within AFS to ensure collaboration and co-production in order to promote the AFS Recovery Academy (AFSRA) core principles of shared learning and empowerment.

To contribute to the development and delivery of the AFS Recovery Academy programme and promote the development of skills to address service user’s recovery needs.

To positively promote and demonstrate the value of recovery in all aspects of role

To assist in the line management of the AFS Recovery Academy workforce.
