Typical work includes the planning and delivery of nuclear waste processing plants and components such as evaporators, dryers, cementing and grouting systems and high-pressure presses. In addition, Westinghouse develops dissection technologies for the segmentation of contaminated and activated parts of the plant. Interns support system and component engineers to redesign nuclear waste treatment facilities and dismantling concepts as well as the necessary disassembly and handling tools and to improve existing designs.
Possible tasks: Creation of design documents such as B. Specifications, P&IDs, data sheets, operating instructions, functional descriptions, design calculations, drawings, test instructions and final documentation Support in the arrangement of plants (Plant Layout) Optimization of existing systems and components Checking and optimizing existing design processes Working in international teams Education/Experience: Study of mechanical engineering or process engineering (or similar) Theoretical knowledge of nuclear technology would be a plus Fluent knowledge of English is required MS Office knowledge CAD knowledge is an advantage (AutoCAD) Strong technical interest, flexibility, understanding of project priorities and ability to work in a team
