This role will provide support to a visually impaired colleague, previous experience of providing this support is highly desirable. This support is not expected to occupy a full-time position, the job description below is a role that is currently available within UKSV and can be completed alongside the support. If this role does not match your skill set but you have experience in supporting someone with a visual impairment, we would still be interested in hearing from you as there may be another available position that you would be able to complete alongside.

The support that is expected to be needed is as follows but this may develop throughout the role.

? Explaining diagrams

? Explaining Google Sheets formulas

? Transcribing

? Completing forms

? Explaining what's on screen

? Aiding with completing assignment bibliographies

**Job Description**:
The role and responsibilities will include, but aren’t limited to:
? Research of HR policy in the management of change to support change projects

? Research into current best practice to enable us to deliver initiatives in line with our People Programme

? Supporting management of Trade Union engagement including arranging meetings/minute taking and creating agendas

? Supporting the development of an inclusive culture through everyday behaviours and positive engagement with relevant initiatives

? Prepare and cascade communications as required

? Provide accurate and timely reports

? Helping with various arrangements internally, from travel to processing expenses and booking events

? Reading documents

The Person Specification

You will be working in a fast-paced environment where customer service is at the forefront of everything we do. You will need to be able to deliver high quality work by providing an excellent service to the team and the wider UKSV team.

We are therefore looking for people with the following skills/attributes:
? Excellent interpersonal skills to form effective working relationships with people at all levels

? Ability to prioritise own workload effectively, as well as the workload of others, to meet deadlines and manage competing demands in a fast-paced environment

? Good attention to detail

? Excellent analytical skills

? Strong verbal and written communication skills

? Strong organisational and administrative skills

? Ability to follow and interpret policies and procedures

? The aptitude to work independently and also collaborate and support others

? The ability to understand complex information relating to policies and procedures

? General IT skills and the ability to use the main software packages

? Occasional travel may be required of this post
