Marketing Officer

Overview:
This role will achieve customer growth and build loyalty across our services by influencing travel behaviour and making travel by bus the preferred choice.
Working with the head of marketing and communications, team colleagues and third party agencies to write plans, develop concepts and deliver first class marketing campaigns and activities that aim to increase passenger growth.
**Responsibilities**:
This role will create and deliver marketing and communications activity and campaigns for both Brighton & Hove and Metrobus, Brighton City Sightseeing and Spirit of Sussex private hire services.
- Create excellent marketing communications materials for campaigns and marketing activities that aim to increase passenger growth.
- Contribute to, produce and distribute press releases to relevant media, maintaining up to date media lists.
- Work directly with colleagues, the graphic designer and any third parties to develop and execute creative for targeted audiences and across a variety of channels.
- Produce well written marketing communications plans and briefs.
- Schedule and create effective eCRM campaigns in order to maintain regular levels of news output to our customer database and to segmented audiences, adapting your copy writing style appropriately for different channels and audiences.
- Create social media content including (but not limited to) copy, graphic design and film. Monitor its success.
- Present great marketing ideas that influence peers and colleagues for communications activity and campaigns.
- As part of the team, help to improve the customer experience by continually adding and updating content to the branded websites to increase dwell time and traffic to the site.
- Follow brand guidelines and become a brand advocate ensuring a consistent style and joined approach for all communications.
- Respond to requests for marketing communications support from across the organisation.
- Develop marketing communications to support bus service timetable and fare changes. This will include developing timetable information for different marketing materials, channels and platforms.
- Develop marketing communications in line with our core values of safety, inclusivity, value, environment, convenience, accessibility and community.
- Provide marketing and campaign support for the objectives of the Bus Service Improvements Plans and enhanced partnerships.
- Contribute to maintaining a digital film and photo library, including planning and delivering photoshoots.
- Plan and deliver new service and product launches across a range of platforms.
- Produce strong written and visual content to retain and attract new customers.
- Get involved in events to help raise awareness of our brands and services.
- Share insights, progress and performance updates on your work and activity.
- Be aware of the marketing activities of local competitors within all modes of passenger transport.
- Share new ideas from inside and outside of passenger transport.
- Use market research to help inform decision making for future campaigns and activity.
- Write award entries, and seek out awards opportunities
- Work as part of a team and provide support to other team members as appropriate.
- Be part of a dedicated team of professional communicators to help achieve and deliver the overarching marketing communications objectives that supports the wider corporate plan and Go Ahead’s objectives.

**Essential**:
- Experience of experience of working in a similar Marketing and/or Communications role.
- Experience of working across multiple marketing channels and platforms including digital, print and online.
- Advanced skills in writing marketing communications plans and briefs and creating presentations.
- Excellent copy writing and proofing skills, along with an eye for good design.
- Good project, time and organisational skills with the ability to see multiple projects through from start to finish.
- Ability to use insight to support the development of first class creative and concepts for campaigns, marketing activity and materials.
- Ability to work alongside agencies and third parties to deliver marketing communications on time and too budget.
- Strong numeracy accuracy and analysis skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
- Self-motivated and flexible.
- Able to work quickly and productively under pressure and to deadline.
- Able to lead on smaller projects and collaborate with others to deliver excellent marketing communications.
- Basic level of design software experience, including Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop and / or other graphic design software.
- Experience with eCRM and website content management systems.
- Excellent IT skills, including MS Office, Adobe
