**The Post** SHARPS2 Research Administrator (Grade 5) - Salvation Army Centre for Addiction Services and Research (SACASR)**

**Terms of role: 25.2 hours/week (70% FTE), fixed term for 34 months from 1**st** April 2024 to 31**st** January 2027.**

The post-holder will work closely with Professor Tessa Parkes (Stirling study primary investigator (PI)) and Dr Hannah Carver (Stirling trial manager), to support the day-to-day administration of the study, including supporting the trial manager with management of the trial, organising team meetings, project travel, liaising with team members, and monitoring the study budget. They will also liaise closely with the research team members from the Trials Unit (CHaRT) at the University of Aberdeen who are co-leading the study.

**Description of Duties**
- Supporting the study leads and wider research team to deliver the study in accordance with the terms of the grant
- Responsibility for administrative and secretarial activities, to ensure the efficient set-up and conduct of the trial
- Working closely with a wide and diverse, including geographically, project team to ensure the successful day-to-day management of the trial
- Responsibility for organising and note taking of meetings with the trial team and other stakeholders
- Providing administrative support to the Study Advisory Group and Experts by Experience group (organising meetings, note taking, payments etc.)
- Organising travel for team members, Study Advisory Group and Experts by Experience group members as required
- Monitoring and processing budgetary information for the study in line with university financial regulations
- Supporting the PI/trial manager and team to maintain and up-date a trial risk-register
- Supporting the PI/trial manager to maintain and up-date the trial ‘Masterfile’
- Supporting the PI/trial manager with documentation required for trial sites and ‘site-specific files’
- Supporting the research team with data management and storage, including entry of research data into a central research database, generating data queries and data checking to ensure a complete and accurate data-set
- Liaising with the University of Aberdeen site regarding study databases, as needed
- Creating and maintaining trial contact lists for study team and sites in line with data protection legislation
- Assisting trial team with the development of study documentation
- Supporting the development of, and maintaining, the trial website and social media communications
- Supporting study team with administrative duties relating to study outputs and dissemination
- Undertaking personal development in skill areas related to the post
- Undertaking any other duties and responsibilities, commensurate with the grade of the post, as directed by the study leads

**Essential Criteria**
- Strong administration background in the project / research management environment, with the ability to multi-task and prioritise activities to achieve deadlines
- Excellent communication skills, both verbally and written
- Demonstrative experience of using a range of relevant IT and financial management packages
- Excellent planning, organisational, and budget management skills, with an eye for detail and ability to prioritise a demanding workload in a pressurised environment
- Ability to foster good relationships with a diverse set of colleagues and be diplomatic at all times including when under pressure
- Ability to work independently and with initiative but to also effectively and collaboratively as part of a team
- Be highly motivated, solution-focused, and able to problem-solve, with a ‘can-do’ attitude
- No financial links to the alcohol or tobacco industry

**Desirable Criteria**
- Experience of working on multi-site research studies
- Project management qualification
- Experience of working within Higher Education or research/trial settings
