An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced administrator to join Sussex Partnership's Research Support Team, and to play an integral part of our extensive research programme as a Research Support Team Administrator.

Our Research and Development (R&D) service designs and delivers a diverse range of mental health and dementia research studies in partnership with the Trust’s clinical services, higher education institutes, other NHS Trusts locally and beyond, charities and the regional clinical research network. We aim to improve the care and treatment of our service users, support for their carers and families, and to translate our research into tomorrow's standard of care.

As the Research Support Team Administrator, you will play a pivotal support role, helping to enable the undertaking of research studies, as well as providing assistant to our research staff. You will quickly become a valued member of the R&D dept., for good administrators are the back-bone of any successful service.

You will deliver multi-faceted support for the wider R&D department, including the following duties:
Monitoring the safety of staff on research visits

Procurement of research materials

Invoicing research payments

Raising purchase orders

Maintaining the R&D Staff roster

Supporting the recruitment and induction of new research staff

Administrative support for meetings and forums (including minute taking, diary management, room bookings)

Inbox monitoring

Managing petty cash

Enthusiastic and personable

Professional and organised in their approach to work and prioritising workloads

An experienced administrator (ideally within the NHS or other healthcare setting)

Enjoy working with a variety of professionals of different roles and grades

Able to work under their own initiative

Comfortable with the occasionally ad-hoc nature of a busy department

Be open to learning new administrative skills and software systems

Bring fresh ideas to the role,

You will work closely with a wide range of staff, especially research assistants, researchers and managers within R&D; and, external to our dept., with the Trust's HR, Finance and Roster functions. You will also be a link between R&D and external professionals. The Research Support Team is at the centre of enabling successful research within SPFT.
