Much of the work undertaken within the centre seeks to emphasise the linkages and cross-dependencies between climate change, the consumption of natural resources, and the ways that these resource uses are configured, distributed and adapted by societies all around the world.

We seek a Programme Coordinator who will play a key role in supporting the Environment and Society Centre's project activities.

You will support the Environment and Society by providing coordination and support across research projects, publications and financial administration.

**Main Duties and Responsibilities**

**Delivery**
- Coordinate the production of outputs as required with a focus on: digital communications and promotional materials; events, workshops and roundtables; research; and administration;
- Support **outreach through digital communications** platforms, producing promotional content for channels such as Twitter and newsletters, while also maintaining up-to-date webpages and supporting in the creative production of other promotional materials.
- **Design and deliver events**, with a particular focus on public engagement events. This will include working with researchers and other colleagues in Chatham House to identify relevant event topics and managing attendance, travel accommodation, publicity and other logistics as required.
- **Assist with desk research** in order to develop your knowledge on the most pertinent sustainability issues while contributing to our research outputs;
- Effectively **deliver on administrative processes**, including but not limited to: supporting project management of an exciting schedule of activities and outputs; coordinating production of research publications; maintaining data and using our CRM in compliance with GDPR; keeping project files and databases of records up-to-date; and producing and proofreading programme outputs, meetings and memos.

- Maintain links with key individuals, businesses, and institutions around the world working on relevant issues with the Environment and Society Centre;
- Build and maintain relationships with colleagues, funders and partners to meet the Environment and Society Centre’s goals, with a strong collaborative approach to delivering work with other teams within Chatham House;
- Work with others in creating a positive working culture, ensuring good practice is shared and embodying the institute's standards of behaviours are followed;
**Strategy**
- Understand the Environment and Society Centre’s and Chatham House’s **overall strategy** and your role's contribution to it;
- Proactively coordinate** budgets and support financial management**, including to draft and review budgets for proposals and grant reports, manage payments, monitor expenditure, and work with the Manager to support internal financial review processes;
- Support preparing and submitting **progress reports** in coordination with the Manager and other research colleagues;
- **Identify areas for collaboration and efficiencies**, working across the Environment and Society Centre to help drive these.

**Person Specification**
- Experience in coordinating and delivering high quality events for online meeting platforms and for large in-person events;
- A team player, able to work collaboratively with colleagues and engage with a broad range of partners;
- Outstanding administration, coordination and organisational skills;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Excellent attention to detail and financial literacy;
- Good IT skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office 365 suite;
- Experience with databases/ CRM software (Desirable).
