A broad and varied events programme can make the difference to a student’s experience at university. Are you passionate about coordinating events and maximising participation? Could you play a vital role in delivering a series of impactful experiences throughout the year?
- What you will be doing_
- Playing a pivotal role in supporting and nurturing our clubs and societies to run large-scale events such as Balls and Charity Fundraisers.
- Managing and coordinating the delivery of high quality, engaging events for our members.
- Collaborating with others by assisting with the planning, co-ordinating, marketing and delivery of the Union Events Calendar.
- Assisting in the delivery and running of our varied and exciting Give it a Go programme.
- Providing health & safety advice and guidance to ensure events take place under safe conditions.
- Ensuring rigorous compliance with health and safety policies.
- What we’re looking for_
- Experience of coordinating and delivering events, including the coordination of other staff
- Some experience of building relationships with a diverse range of personnel and stakeholders
- Experience and understanding of customer service
- Ability to travel independently to other locations when required
- Skills that will help you_
- Excellent communication skills both written and oral
- Patience, enthusiasm, ability to motivate others
- Flexible and adaptable approach to work and working hours
- Where will you be working?_
- This role is a cross campus role. You will choose either Cambridge or Chelmsford as your home campus, but will be required to work at alternative campuses in Cambridge, Chelmsford or Peterborough as necessary.

ARUSU represents approximately 25,000 students at Anglia Ruskin University (ARU) across campuses in Cambridge, Chelmsford, Peterborough and London. In addition, we provide a range of services; academic and welfare advice, support to students running societies and volunteering opportunities in and around the campuses. Whilst we play an important student representative role that sometimes sees us challenge the University, we work closely with them and support areas of delivery within their strategy.
