Production Supervisor

United Aerospace LTD are recruiting an EXPERIENCED production supervisor to join the team, based in Pembroke Dock, Pembrokeshire. Reporting to the production manager, this role will oversee the composite material manufacturing process, including laminating, autoclave, CNC machining and assembly areas.

Daily Duties Include:

- Lead, motivate and manage the team, upholding the business values.
- First point of contact for all safety, quality and delivery related issues on shop floor.
- Allocating resource to deliver the production schedule.
- Ensuring compliance to health and safety regulations at all times.
- Maintaining high quality standards at all times.
- Monitoring and driving KPI’s in order to meet customer expectations.
- Chairing SQD (Safety/Quality/Delivery) performance management meetings each morning with shop floor team and support staff.
- Ensuring that shop floor output is in line with production schedule and developing recovery plans for any deviation from the target with the production team
- Liaise with support teams, engineering, scheduling, purchasing, in order to optimise production output.
- Support the production manager in driving a culture of continuous improvement and having the agility to respond to changes in customer demand.
- Ensure compliance to 5S in the workplace, whilst looking at ways to reduce process waste and variation.
- Carry out departmental safety audits in line with published schedules.

Essential experience:

- A minimum of five years’ experience of direct operator management, leading medium/large production teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Needs to possess a strong proven track record of leading teams to achieve business targets.
- Good communications skills, both written and verbal.
- Proven ability to multi-task and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Beneficial experience:

- IOSH or similar health and safety qualification.
- Experience of conducting risk assessments and COSHH assessments.
- Continuous improvement experience, green belt or similar.
- Experience of composite material manufacturing.
- Familiarity with ERP systems.

40 hours per week 8.00 - 4.30 Monday - Friday (shift work may be required in the future).

Salary 30-35K depending on experience.
