**About this Role**:
**Job Title**: Behaviour and Pastoral Year Lead (non-teaching) (Pastoral Leader)

**Status**:Term Time + 2 weeks**Who We Are**:

The Pastoral team are a talented and diverse department working closely with SLT and supporting our pupils. It is important to our academy that we appoint someone who will work effectively with staff, families, carers to overcome behavioural and welfare obstacles to learning and ensure the behaviour and welfare of our pupils.

We have a comprehensive professional development calendar and CPD opportunities are offered to all staff at all levels, and these are delivered via SLT at Brownhills, OAT or external providers.

**What we are looking for**:
You will demonstrate the motivation required to work with children, resilience in dealing with challenging behaviours, and possess the ability to form and maintain appropriate supportive relationships.

**Hours**: (term time + 2 weeks)37 hours per week, 41 weeks per year
- Experience of working with children/young people (11 -18) in a voluntary or professional capacity. U
- Understand and comply with procedures and legislation relating to confidentiality and data protection.
- Knowledge of Safeguarding and Child Protection policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of current safeguarding issues.
- Be a motivated individual with the ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
- Be able to identify work priorities and manage own workload to meet deadlines.
- Have high attention to detail and accuracy.
- Have excellent organisation and communication skills.
- Have excellent literacy / numeracy and be proficient in IT, covering all elements of Microsoft office.
- Show commitment, initiative and reliability.
- Have a flexible approach to meet the varying needs of the school. This post will require some evening and work during the holidays to meet the needs of the school.
