The Seeds School is looking for an experienced pastoral support officer to join a friendly team in a mixed SEND School providing support for 14-16-year-old students.

The Seeds School is an Independent School aimed at supporting students with a primary need of SEMH at Key Stage 4. Our School boasts excellent vocational facilities including Construction, Hairdressing, Catering and Physical Education. We have a fantastic and dedicated team.

The aims of the role are as follows:
To support the Senior Leadership team to lead and manage student behaviour day to day.

To act as a role model for students and staff by demonstrating high quality pastoral care and support, rigorous expectations and to be a visible, professional presence with students.

The role requires diplomacy, understanding of vulnerable students and an ability to resolve conflict in a calm and rational manner.

You will be supporting the supervising of students and developing intervention strategies to manage behaviour.

The successful applicant will:

- Have experience of supporting young people 14-16 years
- Be confident in managing challenging behaviours and your ability to control them and remain calm
- Have the ability to engage with students and build a rapport
- Have the ability to implement and monitor behaviour management strategies
- Contribute to school wide knowledge and skills in behaviour management
- Possess excellent organisational skills combined with the ability to prioritise time and tasks in order to meet deadlines and provide a friendly and efficient service.
- Have a high level judgment, communication and emotional intelligence skills.

This is a permanent position working term time.
