**Senior Residential Worker**

**Salary**:Up to £26,500 per annum (pro-rata), depending on experience.

**Location**: Aston Clinton, Bucks.

**Contract/Hours**: Permanent Full Time 37 hours a week. Shifts are on a rota basis including earlies, evenings, and every alternate weekend. Shifts are likely to be 2pm to 10pm and 7am to 2.30pm. Flexibility is essential due to the nature of the home being staffed 24/7.

**About the Role**:
We are looking for full time Senior Residential Workers who will provide a safe environment for a brand new flagship single placement children's home for a young person with learning difficulties and associated needs. This will be working to ensuring the child is given the best possible care.

You'll be undertaking the role of shift leading by supporting your colleagues to provide a safe, stimulating and caring environment You will be a shift leader who oversees the activities whilst on shift. You will receive training and supervision to support your personal development.

You will be passionate, committed, resilient and yes, this role can sometimes be emotionally and physically challenging but it's also fun and diverse. **How you'll help to create brighter futures**
- Planning and leading shifts to engage the children and young people
- Supporting children and young people in administration of medication and clinical procedures in line with the services policies and safeguarding practices
- Taking responsibility for the personal care and routines of the young people.
- Supporting young people to achieve positive outcomes.
- Being responsible for the safeguarding of young people.
- Link working for young people, contributing to the development and evaluation of care plans and risk assessments.
- Attending meetings/reviews with other care professionals to promote person centred care

**Let's talk about you**
- Experience of working with children and young people or care work (experience of working with children with disabilities would be an advantage).
- Level 3 Diploma in Children and Young People's Workforce Social Care Pathway or Residential Childcare or equivalent is desirable, or relevant qualification to be achieved within 2 years of taking up the post (this will be funded by Action for Children).
- Leadership skills and ability to run a shift and work well as part of a team
- A positive and confident approach to engaging with children and young people.
- Safeguarding knowledge.
- Be caring and compassionate, with excellent communication skills, with a good standard of written English and the ability to make accurate notes for record-keeping purposes.
- Willingness to continue to develop through on the job training
- A solution focused approach to address problems, individually and in a team setting.
- Working off your own initiative, proactive and motivated.
- You **MUST** have your own vehicle and be able to travel of your own accord to the location of this home as it is slightly remote.
