**Widening Participation Officer**

**Start: ASAP (1 month contract)**

**Salary: £16.36 - £20.12 p/Hour**

**Location: WC1H9BT (Hybrid working available - Thursday is the only office day)**

**Our client**:
Our client is London's Global University and are consistently ranked among the up ten universities in the world.

**Main purpose of the role**:
The Widening Participation Officer delivers projects to address long-term barriers to higher education, particularly attainment of young people from under-represent groups.

**Main duties & responsibilities**:

- Lead on the coordination and delivery of allocated programmes and events
- Provide input on development of new programmes and review existing programmes
- Respond to general enquiries from prospective students, parents and teachers
- Liaising with academic and administrative departments including room bookings, catering, finance and HR
- Developing a strong awareness of child protection and safeguarding procedures
- Updating content on webpages and social media accounts
- Processing finance payments and keeping accurate, up-to-date financial records

**Ideal person specification**:

- Qualifications commensurate with education to A Level or equivalent, including proficiency in English and Mathematics
- Knowledge of UK secondary and higher education systems
- Experience of co-ordinating projects, programmes or events
- Experience of working with children and/or young people
- Administrative experience gained in a people-focused environment
- An understanding of child protection and safeguarding issues
- Enthusiasm for widening participation in higher education
