Novax Recruitment is actively seeking a Principle Procurement Officer based in Bracknell. This role is a permanent position working full time hours.

The client can offer flexible working.

Key Responsibilities include:

- To support the Head of Corporate Procurement with implementing the Client’s Plan and Procurement objectives.
- Lead teams to develop new contracts, including advising senior managers and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation.
- Promote self-service procurement through training, coaching, written guidance and use of procurement related systems. Having an advanced understanding and experience in utilising e-tendering systems (specifically ProActis) to maximise its functionality and use.

Other responsibilities include:

- Lead teams to develop and new contracts delivering clear service improvements and real cash savings, including assessment of current needs and expenditure, assessment of markets and early engagement with markets.
- Advise senior managers on all procurement and contract management issues; build strong and positive relationships across the client
- Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, particularly the Public Contracts Regulations, GDPR and Freedom of Information.
- Lead and develop commercial contract management and delivery of contract benefits throughout their term.
- Identify opportunities for savings through procurement and provide expenditure analysis and reports using data from the finance system.
- Other duties as directed by the head of procurement.

Skills, experience and qualifications required:

- Previous experience working in the public sector in a procurement role
- Full Membership of the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply or equivalent relevant qualification
- Advanced knowledge and experience of e-tendering and procurement systems
- Demonstrable experience of producing complex tender documentation and using financial/analytical tools to evaluate tenders
- Significant experience of stakeholder engagement
