Job Introduction**BBC Children in Need are looking for a data driven, Grant Making Database Officer for a 6 month fixed-term contract based in Salford.**

The Grant Making Database Officer will report to a Senior Officer, in the Design and Delivery team. The role will also work closely alongside Data Managers within the Insight Team. We are looking for a someone passionate about Data systems and quality to provide front-line support to users of our grant making systems across the UK.

Main Responsibilities

The aims of the role are to
- Provide frontline support and training for all users of our grant-making systems
- Support Data Systems Managers with the administration and data management underpinning our grant-making systems (Currently Blackbaud Grantmaking)
- To design, create and maintain internal and external facing forms, documents and reports that are used by our staff and the public
- Provide first-line support to users of our grant-making system, currently Blackbaud Grant-making, troubleshooting issues and escalating problems as and when required
- Manage user accounts for new starters and leavers, ensuring user permissions are set as appropriate
- Maintain our library of mail-merge documents implementing version control and ensuring we have up-to-date Welsh versions of all documentation
- Develop and deliver system user training and guidance for a variety of users
- Test new system functionality, forms and documents
- Respond to ad-hoc data requests extracting and sharing data always ensuring adherence to GDPR principles
- Build and maintain system procedure documentation
- Work with the Data Systems Manager to ensure good data quality in our grant-making database

The Grant Making Database Officer will have
- Experience of using and implementing changes to large database systems
- Experience of logically diagnosing technical issues
- Experience of delivering first-line support to data systems users
- Experience of training data systems users in a range of settings
- Experience of using MS Office packages in particular Excel
- Experience of project working, including proven ability to deliver to deadlines
- Experience in communicating effectively with a wide range of colleagues
- Experience of working under pressure with high volumes of work
- Experience of prioritising work effectively
- Experience of updating process documents
- An understanding of the Data Protection Act 2018 and GDPR
