**Key Responsibilities**

As the Compliance and H&S Officer, you will be responsible for:

- The management and control of the Integrated Management System, consisting of Quality (ISO9001:2015), Environmental (ISO14001:2015) and Health and Safety (ISO45001:2018).
- Auditing of BELL Lighting systems, processes and procedures, ensuring continued compliance to the applicable clauses of ISO9001, ISO14001 and ISO45001.
- Work closely with the Quality Control department, ensuring all product, processes and procedures remain compliant to applicable legislation, regulation and standards.
- Day-to-day management of the health and safety systems, continually looking for and promoting improvements in all aspects of health, safety and welfare at BELL Lighting.
- Design, develop, conduct and maintain risk assessments to ensure all areas of the business are covered.
- Continued re-evaluation, development and maintenance of COSHH and DSEAR risk assessments, ensuring hazards are kept to a minimum and appropriate PPE is made available.
- Promote and police employee compliance to all health and safety requirements implemented by the Company.
- Develop and deliver an effective training programme for employees, covering all relevant health, safety and environmental topics.
- Testing and maintenance of fire alarm system (weekly), emergency lighting (monthly), fire doors (twice yearly) and fire extinguishers (annually).
- Review of employee training records, liaising with the Human Resources department to ensure applicable training is provided in a timely manner, so that the organisation is always compliant with respect to First Aiders, Fire Marshals and FLT drivers.
- Promote business wide monitoring and reporting of accidents, incidents and near misses, and engage in delivering improvements to the behavioural safety culture around the organisation.
- Maintain the legislation register, keeping abreast of changes to legislation and regulations applicable to the business and its product range.
- Contribute to the creation and implementation of environmental improvements throughout all areas of the organisation.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement within the company and contribute to new business projects and initiatives.
- Comply and improve the Company’s procedures in line with the EcoVardis certification, carrying out research and improvements for the annual submittals.
- Key stakeholder and sponsor of environmental obligations focusing on Weee and Battery compliance and environmental packaging legislation.

**Skills & qualifications**
- Minimum HND/degree qualification.
- Excellent knowledge of ISO requirements, including but not limited to ISO9001, ISO14001 and ISO45001.
- Excellent working knowledge of the latest legislation governing health, safety and environmental topics.
- Computer literate.
- Ability to communicate effectively with all departmental stakeholders across the business.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £40,000.00-£45,000.00 per year
