Shift Supervisor

Blueleaf are looking for a full time Shift Supervisor to join our great Operations team working the afternoon shift from 1pm - 10pm in Castleford. On a daily basis, as a Supervisor you'll lead and motivate the drivers and warehouse operatives on your shift to ensure tasks are completed effectively including ensuring all goods are received in accurately and are correctly stored. If you have experience of leading a team in a warehousing environment and are willing to fix problems that occasionally arise, as well as being a great team-player, then this role could be for you.
**Your day to day responsibilities**:
- Manage the Shift team to ensure all goods are received in and correctly stored, and that all orders are picked, checked and loaded accurately to meet the required van departure times.
- Monitor the activities of the shift to ensure quality work and productive use of resources.
- Check the orders to be despatched regularly on NetSuite.
- Print any emergency (missed) sales orders after the cut off time as required or arrange different date with Customer Services.
- Ensure all returned items are logged and processed through the correct procedure.
- Conduct and record physical stock-takes as requested.
- Provide a daily accurate handover report.
- Resolve day to day operational issues/problems - service.
- Regularly review the performance of the team and develop the team through cross training and coaching including PDRs.
- Keep a clean and safe working environment (warehouse/office) to ensure operational efficiency.
- Make recommendations to aid efficiency and add value.
- Oversee critical ops report for missed shipments/unplanned orders and report to Customer Services as required.
- Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Support with furniture deliveries and queries as required.
- Support Warehouse Manager in daily functions.
- MHE - (Bendi/Flexi) / FLT / PPT licences required to support the operation due to volumes and cover.
- Multi-functional support in all areas of the business to support with volume and absence including holiday cover.
- Occasionally there may be the need to work from other warehouses within the company due to business need and customer demand, appropriate notice will be given.
- Safe and secure opening up of or locking up of the site.
- Responsible for the safety of others and ensuring all H&S procedures are followed.
- Responsible for reporting of any H&S breaches, accidents or near misses. Encourage the team to be H&S driven.
**Skills & Experience**
- Full driving licence
- Good understanding of warehouse management processes and systems
- Great communication skills
- MHE Licence
- Use of Microsoft Office
- Commercial Awareness
- Ability to work under pressure and remain focused on the priority task
- Health and Safety focused
