**Job description**:
As an Assurance Business Partner, you will be part of a team working with assurance partners GIAA and DVSA management teams to deliver an effective integrated assurance programme across the 3 lines of defence, where our assurance reviews and support activity will bring clarity so that decision makers in DVSA can make informed choices.

Working within a team to develop and deliver a programme of 2nd line Assurance activity to ensure that there is conformance and quality goals are achieved within our business processes and systems. Through Assurance Reviews you will evaluate effectiveness and efficiency in delivering the desired business outcomes, identifying and investigating systems inefficiencies and risks such that interventions might be taken by the business to reduce them.

You will engage with senior leaders and stakeholders in DVSA to Director level, determining stakeholder needs, championing assurance principles and values underpinning the Assurance Strategy, encouraging a positive, transparent assurance culture across the Agency.

You will have the opportunity to directly influence change and to make things better in DVSA.
- Responsibilities include, but are not limited to;_
- Prioritise, plan and manage activity in completing Assurance Reviews in conjunction with other team members_ _
- Manage and complete a portfolio of assignments that meet quality and professional standards
- Liaising with colleagues and stakeholders to ensure business functions are fulfilled in an effective manner
- Produce reports of Assurance reviews that may be shared at Board level, that are accurate, factual, unbiased and clear in setting out evidence
- Identify key findings, recognising best practice and making recommendations for improvements and where necessary efficiency savings
- Carry out investigations, fact finding exercises and reviews as required by the business
- Managing client relations, managing stakeholder expectations through good communication with staff and managers to Director level.

**About you**

You have a knowledge of performance measurement, quality management principles and risk management techniques. You have excellent analytical and problem solving skills, in relation to management information and performance reports.

You have exceptional communication skills in varying circumstances, with the ability to tailor this to your audience and successfully utilise a range of communication methods.

**Additional Information**
- This role can be based in _Swansea_, _Nottingham_, _Bristol_, or _Newcastle_ your presence at one of these locations will form part of the working arrangements agreed with you. We operate a hybrid working model giving you greater flexibility about where and when you work. Our _**_expectation_**_ is that you will spend a minimum _**_60% of your time at your base location. _**_Visits to other DVSA sites or work locations count towards this. _

There will be occasional travel required with this role to other DVSA locations, which could include overnight stays.
