We are looking for an Area Fundraising Officer to achieve set fundraising targets and KPIs and to create the best possible experience for our charity supporters, volunteers and partners. This role will cover the local area of our Birmingham Hospice

**About the Role**

Acorns is currently the UK’s largest children’s hospice charity, in terms of both numbers of children and families supported, and annual expenditure on our care work. We need to raise more than £10 million each year to run and support our care services and we rely heavily on the goodwill and generosity of our local community. As an Area Fundraising Officer, you’ll work towards agreed fundraising plans and objectives to deliver a regular programme of fundraising activities.

You’ll work with local businesses, places of education, faith groups and individuals who are undertaking their own fundraising activities for Acorns. You’ll support with their events when needed and build your relationships to maximise income generation and secure repeat support. You’ll share case studies, telling great stories to supporters to ensure that they understand the difference that their donations make. You’ll create new relationships by preparing and delivering pitches, talks and presentations.

As volunteers are essential to our fundraising activities, you’ll identify when volunteer support is needed and work with the Area Managers to create volunteer recruitment plans. You’ll undertake volunteer recruitment by making personal and written presentations to groups and organisations. You’ll maintain communication with volunteers and deliver volunteer training.

**About You**

You will have demonstrable experience of meeting targets and KPIs, with proven success at sales. There will be a lot going on at once, so we’ll be looking for someone with excellent administrative, organisational and planning skills. You’ll be able to prioritise your workload and be able to work independently. You’ll work with a few IT systems to manage administration and reporting so you’ll be highly IT literate.

There will be travel to several sites, so you’ll need to be a car owner or have access to a vehicle for work purposes, with a valid driving licence and the ability to travel across your allocated region.

You’ll have a passion for charity work and a strong commitment to the organisational performance and the care that we provide.
