Service Care Solutions are currently recruiting for NHS Catering Assistant on a ongoing temporary agency contract. This role will be based within the Tamworth area.

**Hours**
32.5 hours per week
Flexible working days could be considered

**Rate**
PAYE Rate - £11
Paid weekly via an umbrella company.

**Job Purpose**
To support the catering functions at ward level as part of the wider Catering teams.
To undertake a variety of tasks associated with food preparation and food service to our inpatients in line with legislation. Ensuring at all times that a high quality standard is achieved at ward level.

**Main Duties**
To undergo an administrative service to the forensics team. This will include being the first point of contact for team/ department, which could involve:

- **To provide a localised catering service observing health, observing safety and hygiene procedures, and maintaining high standards in all aspects of Hospital catering.**:

- ** Take meal orders at ward level using electronic device and ensuring the correct dietary requirements are ordered.**:

- ** To deliver good principles of customer care ensuring helpfulness, awareness and compassion to patients, visitors, staff, and colleagues.**:

- ** Complete ward beverage rounds on the ward, making and serving drinks to patients.**:

- **Preparation of patient foods, picking, packing, delivery and service to wards.**:

- **Collection of meal trolleys to and from the wards**:

- ** Preparation of patient meal trays.**:

- ** Plating and service of cold and hot food items with meal delivery to patients, including service of condiments.**:

- ** Probing and recording food temperatures in line with legislation.**:

- **Cleaning duties within the kitchen and other associated areas in accordance with departmental cleaning schedules.**:

- **All catering equipment and utensils including crockery, cutlery, water jugs and beakers etc must be returned to the central dishwasher.**:

- ** Support the team in receiving goods and storing food items in the correct locations.**

**Desired Skills**
- ** Experience of working in a health care or catering environment is an advantage but not essential**:

- **All essential to role training in all aspects of the job will be provided.**
