We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Part Time Kitchen Assistant to join our team at Brakes in Tamworth, Staffordshire.
As a Part Time Kitchen Assistant, you will be responsible for preparing food ingredients, assisting in the cooking process, and maintaining a clean and sanitary food preparation area.
You will work closely with the Canteen Manager to serve fresh food to our night shift colleagues and on-site visitors at our Canteen.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare food ingredients and assist in the cooking process
- Maintain a clean and sanitary food preparation area
- Work closely with the Canteen Manager to serve fresh food to our night shift colleagues and on-site visitors
- Undertake cashier duties and operate a till for contactless payments
- Assist in the planning of menus and setting up catering events as and when necessary
- Participate in cleaning and washing up in the kitchen and dining areas
Requirements:
- Previous experience in cooking and food handling in a fast-paced commercial kitchen environment
- Ability to pick up new skills quickly in the kitchen and on a computer using Microsoft Office
- Excellent customer service skills
- Awareness of Level 3 in Food Safety Supervision for catering and a Level 2 HACCP
- Previous card payment experience is advantageous but not essential
