Job Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Part Time Kitchen Assistant to join our team at Brakes in Tamworth, Staffordshire.

As a Part Time Kitchen Assistant, you will be responsible for preparing food ingredients, assisting in the cooking process, and maintaining a clean and sanitary food preparation area.

You will work closely with the Canteen Manager to serve fresh food to our night shift colleagues and on-site visitors at our Canteen.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare food ingredients and assist in the cooking process
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary food preparation area
  • Work closely with the Canteen Manager to serve fresh food to our night shift colleagues and on-site visitors
  • Undertake cashier duties and operate a till for contactless payments
  • Assist in the planning of menus and setting up catering events as and when necessary
  • Participate in cleaning and washing up in the kitchen and dining areas

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in cooking and food handling in a fast-paced commercial kitchen environment
  • Ability to pick up new skills quickly in the kitchen and on a computer using Microsoft Office
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Awareness of Level 3 in Food Safety Supervision for catering and a Level 2 HACCP
  • Previous card payment experience is advantageous but not essential
