**About the role**

We’re looking for a Strategic Compensation Consultant to join our team based in Pity Me, Durham. You’ll be reporting to our Head of Employee Strategy & Experience, engaging with stakeholders to lead our remuneration process.

This is an exciting opportunity to provide co-ordination and leadership to our pay and rewards process including: benchmarking, market insights and managing specialist providers. You will use your market insight reports to keep stakeholders up to date with economic changes to help pay budget for the upcoming year. This also includes maintaining networks amongst remuneration specialists in the water and utilities sector.

You’ll be a trusted advisor, contributing to the preparation of Remuneration Committee papers, presenting this information to Finance directorate leaders, Group HR Director, and the CEO. Therefore, you will develop and implement compensation packages for executives, using pay surveys and benchmarking to support your recommendations.

We’re looking for you to undertake job evaluations which includes grading and benchmarking, acting as an extra layer of governance to the process. We’re looking for you to use your expertise to advise on company’s benefits, providing meaningful insight on our Flexible Benefits project. As part of this role you will work closely with our Pensions Manager to assist with pension scheme guidance and insight.

We’re looking for a passionate specialist to provide innovation and insight to our reward specialism. You’ll be considered an expert in reward, with a range of experience in reward mechanisms including STIPS and LTIPS.

We’re looking for you to be experienced influencing senior stakeholders, managing multiple viewpoints to share your recommendations within a unionised environment. Therefore, you’ll have the ability to communicate clearly, ensuring everyone has a good understanding of your analysis.

We’re looking for you to be confident using data, especially as you’ll use it to make educated decisions. You’ll be a strategic and logical thinker, using your analytical skills to write proposals, reports and business plans.

Working together as one team consistently is important to us as we’re expecting you to be able to build positive networks. It’s a busy team you will be part of so we expect you to have the experience in a fast paced environment, working flexibly when required.
