Head of Eu Community, Amazon Games

Experience driving direction and alignment with cross-functional teams
- Experience hiring and developing strong talent and building a team
- Professional experience in games community management, managing agencies and working with different time zones, languages, and cultures
At Amazon Games, our mission is to be the most player and partner-obsessed company in gaming. We’re supported by Amazon to pursue bold creative visions, ‘find the fun’ in our products, ship only when ready, and create extraordinary growth opportunities globally and across all platforms.
We believe in a future where everyone is a gamer and everyone can create, compete, collaborate and connect through games, and we are looking for the right people to help us build that future.
We have one of the most exciting roadmaps in the industry, and are actively developing and publishing a portfolio of original IP and high-ambition games we hope players love and play for years to come.
We are looking for a highly motivated and talented Head of Community, EU. In this role, you will act as the bond between the game team and our European based players.
Key job responsibilities
- Develop an outstanding and trusting relationship with internal and external studio leads
- Hire and manage a team of community experts
- Act as the customer champion by creating a scalable feedback loop that brings the voice of the customer into our ongoing development efforts
- Support specific goals and KPIs set by Amazon Games leadership and report against them
- Contribute to the strategy for scaling community management
- Manage agencies that will assist with engagement and moderation
- Take responsibility for communication via all community-channels (discord, social media, blogs) and keep players up to date
You are a seasoned community expert with cross platform, free-to-play and live ops game experience. You have launched games before, and you understand the success of games-as-a-service is dependent on the passionate game communities we serve. You are committed to building a strong relationship between people that play games and people that make them.
You will need to thrive and deliver results in an ambiguous and fast-paced business environment, operating across multiple locales, teams and levels in the organisation.
You hold yourself to exceptionally high standards and exemplify customer obsession.
You will have experience of leading, inspiring and developing a team of community managers.
You will draw on your experience of creating successful and innovative campaigns, and have a thorough understanding of global and local modern social media practices that will help build programs and engage and active player base.
A day in the life
You will represent community and will be the bond between the game team and our European based players. You will be laser-focused on customers and collaborate with internal teams to develop new game features around our community’s preferences and play-patterns.
You will support community goals and KPIs set by Amazon Games leadership, and constantly use data and metrics to understand what content grows our channels through compelling community engagement.
About the team
Amazon Games applies the principles of Amazonian culture to the world of game design. We have a diverse team of talented, creative people pairing their love of making games with the unique strengths that come with being part of Amazon.
Across all of our teams and locations, we are united by a common purpose: to share great gaming experiences with customers around the world.
We consider ourselves upstarts, dedicated to the long game and more than willing to take risks along the way. We cultivate a creative, come-as-you-are environment around our people to enable their best work, ensure all are heard and celebrated, and enable ownership over a culture that ultimately belongs to them. Their story is the story of Amazon Games. From engineers to artists, development managers to designers, product managers to program managers, our teams create games, products, and services as varied as we are.
