**Communications Lead**

**The role**:

- This role will lead on the delivery of all communications and stakeholder engagement for the council’s 'Growth’ development projects and schemes.
- The Communications Lead will work closely with the project management office and council colleagues, as well as local stakeholders including resident groups, organisations, media, and consultants.
- This role is to support the operational delivery of Growth’s development projects to provide an information and engagement service for stakeholders.
- Critically, the Communications Lead will be responsible for managing the relationship between the council and residents by setting up two-way communications channels to listen to, gauge and respond to residents’ views and concerns.

**Key Skills and Experience**:

- A PR and communications background (Critical)
- Experience of coordinating communications projects and workstreams (Critical)
- Experience of creating and commissioning a wide variety of communications content across digital and print channels (Critical)
- Ability to proactively building community relationships and dealing with key stakeholders (Critical)
- Experience of working on major property projects (Desirable)
- An understanding of the workings of the local government including the current issues and challenges (Desirable)
- Experience of working in a political organisation and building effective relationships with elected members (Desirable
