**About the role**
We have a fantastic permanent opportunity for an **Assistant Clerk of Works** to join our Development team in Bristol. This role would be ideal for someone who has a genuine passion for construction and is looking to enter the housing development industry.

Working alongside your assigned mentor out on our sites, you will gain valuable on-the-job experience to understand what being a Clerk of Works is all about and why their role is so important in bringing to life our vision - to deliver as many safe, high-quality homes for our customers as possible.

From carrying out snagging and technical inspections to reporting and advising on health & safety, you’ll build all the practical skills required to develop and grow your knowledge of the industry. While learning in your day-to-day role, we will also fund and support you to complete a relevant, technical qualification - giving you a good grounding to start your exciting new career here at Guinness.

**What we’re looking for**
You don’t need to have previous experience to be considered for this role. Instead, we’re hoping to find someone who either wants to start their career or change their career direction to the construction/housing industry and who is looking to invest in and commit to a genuine learning opportunity. You’ll also be able to demonstrate:

- Ability to learn and to be prepared to participate in further education
- Good attention to detail
- Proven customer service experience
- Good verbal and written communications and interpersonal skills
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and Outlook
- HNC/HND in Construction, Surveying of the Built Environment or equivalent qualification or Construction trade experience with Level 4 qualification
- Full UK Driving License and access to own vehicle

Desirable experience
- Ability to use Dashpivot or similar system
