Job Title: Financial Clerk

We are seeking a skilled Financial Clerk to join our team at Pertemps Bristol Commercial. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with VAT regulations.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and update financial records for multiple clients using accounting software.
  • Process invoices, receipts, payments, and other financial transactions accurately and efficiently.
  • Reconcile bank statements and ensure accuracy of accounts.
  • Prepare and submit VAT returns, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Handle payroll processing, including calculating salaries, deductions, and ensuring timely payments.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports.
  • Collaborate with the accounting team to ensure smooth operations and timely completion of tasks.
  • Provide excellent customer service and respond to client inquiries promptly and professionally.
  • Stay updated with changes in financial regulations and best practices.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in bookkeeping is essential.
  • Strong knowledge of bookkeeping principles, practices, and regulations.
  • Proficient in using accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero).
  • Experience in payroll processing and VAT returns.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel.

Salary Range: £30,000 - £35,000 per annum. This figure is based on the national average salary for a Financial Clerk in the UK, taking into account factors such as location, industry, and level of experience.
