The Pre Operative Assessment Clinic (POAC) is responsible for the Pre-Operative assessment of patients being prepared for a variety of surgical procedures, ensuring patients are physically and emotionally for their surgery and delivering high standards of nursing care.

The post holder will be required to provide clinical support ensuring that patients undergoing surgery receive the appropriate care to ensure the highest outcomes, as directed by the Nurses in Clinic.

To work closely with all disciplines of staff to ensure the promotion of high standards of Pre-Operative assessment for surgical patients.

To undertake responsibilities supported by the Clinical Leader and nursing Team.

Promote Pre-Operative Assessment and clinical excellence.

This is a exciting opportunity for Band 2 HCSW, to join our Nurse led Pre-Assessment service.

We are looking to recruit a dynamic, enthusiastic and self-motivated individuals, who will possesses excellent communication skills and enjoys a challenge.

The service covers a wide range of surgical specialties, in a developing department.

You will need to be a team player and work well as part of a team.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The duties and responsibilities will vary according to the clinical area in which the Healthcare Support Worker is based. All staff employed by Cardiff and Vale University Health Board can be required to work in any area other than their base unit on a temporary basis, to meet patient and service needs without prior notice. - To assist the Registered Practitioner in the provision of patient care under guidance and supervision of the registered practitioner.
- To undertake non-nursing duties and clerical duties as required in the clinical

area
- To maintain identified clinical environment and equipment to the correct standard of cleanliness and working order.
