**Unpaid Trustee Role - Off The Record (OTR) - Mental Health and Wellbeing-Focused Charity for Young People**

Are you passionate about supporting the mental health and wellbeing of young people and making a positive impact in their lives? Are you looking for an opportunity to contribute your skills and expertise to Off The Record (OTR), a small charity dedicated to providing counselling and group work? If so, we have an exciting volunteer opportunity for you

OTR is a small charity, headquartered in Havant, committed to improving the lives of young people in the Havant area and Hampshire, by promoting their mental health and wellbeing. We provide counselling services, along with engaging group activities, to support young individuals and their families in their personal growth and development.

We are actively seeking trustees from all areas of life especially those who have experience either lived or professionally in mental health and wellbeing for young people. You will play a crucial role in the governance and guiding the strategic direction of OTR. You will work collaboratively on the board of trustees to ensure effective governance, management, sustainability, and growth of our charity.

This is an unpaid voluntary position, requiring a commitment of approximately 5-10 hours per month. Our Trustee board meet in-person monthly, 6 meetings are formal board meetings (every 2 months) with the months in between devoted to trustee development.

**Responsibilities**:

- Oversee the governance of the charity in accordance with the Charity Commission’s published guidelines.
- Provide strategic guidance and expertise to support Off The Record's vision and mission.
- Assist in the development and provide oversight of operational policies, procedures, and initiatives to further the organisation's objectives.
- Use your professional skills and experience to support the CEO in the operational running of the organisation.

**Qualifications and Skills**:

- A genuine interest in the wellbeing and mental health of young people.
- Previous experience as a trustee or in a similar governance role would be advantageous but not essential.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively and effectively as part of a team.
- Forward thinking and able to contribute to the continuous improvement of the organisation.
- Ability to promote the Charity’s work and values within your networks and wider communities.
- Expertise in one or more of the following areas: safeguarding, counselling, mental health, fundraising, finance, marketing, law, or HR would be desirable.
