The post holder will be required to implement the provisions of relevant legislation by means of appropriate action to achieve compliance and an improvement to the local environment. This will be by engaging with the community and the issue of relevant notices, such as Community Protection Warnings and Fixed Penalty Notices.

The post holder will be responsible for first stage investigation of environmental issues such as fly tipping and other refuse related issues, this will include the gathering of evidence, engaging with residents as well as the clearing of waste while in attendance, ensuring the authorities policies and procedures are followed at all times.

The post holder will be expected to keep accurate pocket notebook records of all enforcement work to a high-quality evidential standard and in compliance with the Police and Criminal Evidence Act 1984, Criminal Procedures and Investigations Act 1996 and other relevant legislation, guidance and codes of practice.

The post holder will be required to enforce, educate and promote best standards of practice ensuring compliance with the requirements of relevant legislation, guidance and codes of practice.

The post holder will be required to work closely with partner agencies to deliver multi-agency projects ensuring best outcomes for residents.

The post holder will be required to carry out follow up visits in cases of non-compliance or non-payment, liaising with the Environmental Enforcement Team in preparation of case files for prosecution, ensuring up to date knowledge so that all actions comply with written policy and current legislation.
