We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Post Office Clerk. As a vital member of our organization, the Post Office Clerk will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, processing mail and packages accurately, and ensuring the efficient operation of the post office.

**Key Responsibilities**:
**Customer Service**:

- Greet customers in a friendly and professional manner.
- Provide assistance and information regarding postal services, postage rates, and shipping options.
- Address customer inquiries and resolve issues promptly.

**Mail Processing**:

- Receive, sort, and distribute incoming mail and packages.
- Process outgoing mail, including weighing, stamping, and ensuring proper postage.
- Operate postage meters, letter-sorting machines, and other postal equipment.

**Package Handling**:

- Handle packages with care to prevent damage during processing.
- Verify package contents and addresses for accuracy.
- Assist customers with packaging materials and options.

**Record Keeping**:

- Maintain accurate records of mail and package transactions.
- Complete necessary forms and documentation for tracking and accountability.
- Reconcile daily transactions and prepare reports as needed.

**Compliance**:

- Ensure compliance with postal regulations and guidelines.
- Stay informed about changes in postage rates, mailing regulations, and postal procedures.

**Cash Handling**:

- Process customer payments for postage, mailing supplies, and other services.
- Balance cash drawer and maintain accurate financial records.

**Qualifications**:
**Education**:

- High school diploma or equivalent.

**Experience**:

- Previous experience in a customer service role is preferred.
- Familiarity with postal procedures and regulations is a plus.

**Skills**:

- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in handling mail and packages.
- Basic computer skills for using postal software and equipment.
- Ability to lift and carry packages of varying weights.

**Communication**:

- Excellent verbal communication skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with diverse customers and colleagues.

**Reliability**:

- Dependable and punctual, with a strong work ethic.

**Working Conditions**: The position involves standing for extended periods, lifting and carrying packages, and working in a fast-paced environment. The Post Office Clerk will be required to work weekends or evenings based on operational needs.

**Job Type**: Part-time

Pay: Up to £11.44 per hour

Expected hours: 20 - 30 per week
