Peer Support Worker

We are delighted to be advertising this new opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic person with lived experience of perinatal mental health to join our team within the Parent and Baby day unit working as part of the maternal mental health Lotus pathway.
The role will involve supporting service users through their journey of recovery and or loss. We believe peer support workers are experts by experience and play a valuable role in supporting families with their recovery.
The appointed individual will need to be innovative, compassionate and motivated.
The role will include supporting service users at times accessing midwifery, maternity and or neonatal care. You will work alongside the team supporting the journey to recovery and playing an active part in the multi disciplinary team.
The Lotus pathway supports women and birth people who have experienced previous loss or trauma. The team is supported by psychology, midwife, clinical lead and admin support. The lotus pathway is part of the bigger perinatal team who offer support at the Parent and Baby unit.
To provide a safe and non judgemental environment for service users to access emotional support. This is usually through a number of planned activities and contacts You will be supported by the multidisciplinary team to support in the recovery journey.
